A quick post to alert all the Scottish Bloggers know about an
INCREDIBLE vintage pop up shop that is currently open in the Duke Street area
of Glasgow. It is so lucky I have been
selling a lot of my old clothes on ebay right now as that has given me just
enough pennies to spend on the amazing stock they have in and it
changes every day!
The lovely ladies behind the Cornershop Glasgow have put
together a really fabulous space which is very well laid out, not overwhelming
with racks and racks of old clothes but instead carefully picked beautiful
items from the likes of Whistles, Topshop, river island, Pringle, coast, Reiss
and more for unbelievably reasonable prices. Local east- enders are bringing in
their good clothes that just need a new home and because of that there is the perfect
mix of sizes and items, there are shoes, handbags household bits and bobs and
handcrafted brand new pieces too. It is
without a doubt the best vintage shop I have been in to ( and I go into A LOT!)
I genuinely can’t stay away as you just don’t know what piece you will find
next- and it is open till late every night which makes it even more tempting J you can find out details
of all their upcoming events by liking
their facebook page.
I Cannot recommend strongly enough that you take a little adventure
to the east if you haven’t before, you can get to the shop (314 Duke Street) from Bellgrove train
station which is just two stops along from Queen Street Station on the train,
or you can walk right along Duke street from George square which will take
about twenty minutes. You might as well make an afternoon of it and grab some
amazing tea and cakes just along from the shop at Tibos or grab an amazing slap up meal at the renowned Coias while you are at it.
Here is just a few ( ahem! ) of the sneaky purchases I made this week;
Pringle of Scotland Wool Bomber Jacket |
Gorgeous vintage Bellino evening dress |
vintage leather bag |
wool Whistles Dress |
A couple of other little treats included gold and cream brogues and an amazing oversized vintage lambswool blazer- all for fantastically affordable prices.
Thanks to the lovely Jackie and her team for putting up with
my, currently constant, visits- you are doing an amazing job with the place and
it is just what our lovely neighbourhood needed.
That blue dress is gorgeous, I love vintage shops you can find some amazing bits and pieces there. xx
