Lush Mask of Magnaminty

As I said before Christmas, after reading some epic reviews of a couple of Lush products it was time to finally get in on the act. Thanks to some really generous samples in the shop I have been trying a few things out for a month now and I am really pleased with them. Thanks to some amazing suggestions from you guys my wish list is growing steadily, this could be the start of a potentially bank balance-crippling habit,

First up to share with you guys is their Mask of Magnaminty. Now people who know me, know I have a pretty big addiction to all things mint choc, therefore it is a miracle I have managed to review this for you and not just sat on the bathroom floor shovelling it into my mouth instead of putting it on my face. But I resisted for the name of blogging..... that and it would be probably safer just to finish off a mint vienetta.

They say:

Seriously minty body mask.

Mask of Magnaminty was worked on for years before it was settled on. Our inventors have been almost obsessive in their quest to invent the ultimate face mask. The formulation had to be just right in MoM to ensure that it was intense, but not harsh.

Makes dirt a distant memory.

China clay and bentonite gel will pull the dirt from your pores, ground aduki beans and evening primrose seeds exfoliate surface skin cells, and peppermint oil will make you feel so fresh and minty that you'll forget you were ever grubby.

Ground aduki beans and mint

Ground aduki beans remove dead skin cells when used on the skin as an exfoliating powder. They polish the skin, leaving it healthy and renewed.
I say:
This is a really thick mask that you crape out and smooth all over your face, it is almost like a thick wet oatmeal paste style texture- that might not sound great but it works trust me! I like to leave mine on for 10-15 minutes and it dries on the face leaving you looking pretty sexy...

If you are going to wander round doing other activities while you have it on look out for all the little exfoliating beads dropping off as you go as some are quite big. I really adore the smell of this, it is not to overly powerful on the mint front but enough to satisfy my cravings. After washing this off I can honestly say my skin looks a million times brighter, I love a mud mask for soaking up oil but at this time of year I want one that does that but also helps give my skin a more alive look. If you have really dry skin I am not totally sure this is for you as I don't think it will give you the moisture boost you need.

I think in summer I will up to using this a couple of times a week as my skin gets really oily but in winter one is enough. After using it I find my skin feels really deeply cleansed but also refreshed, really soft and a lot more glowy than my usual dull tired winter skin, you can tell it has really sucked out all the crap you don't want hiding under your skin. A downside to me is the shelf life on this- four months is not the best, but in summer I imagine I will get use out of the whole tub. I am just about finished my sample tub and ready to purchase. 1. Hello , great review. I love minty smells too. Have you tried pink cow shower gel in sweet mint i think its called. Its lovely. I'm your newest follower xx

  2. Probably not the best for me having dry skin, but it sure sounds tempting!

  3. I have never seen this at my LUSH before but it sounds really nice. I love minty things so this sounds right up my alley. You should try the cupcake mask if you get a chance. It also smells amazing (and is hard not to eat) and is made for more oily skin.

  4. this looks like something i would like to try. thanks for sharing the idea! :)
