With summer in Scotland being a bit of a hit or miss experience, it was good of the lovely folk at Debenhams to help bring the sunshine to us in the form of their Summer Soiree event. A chance to sip cocktails, enjoy a spot of pampering, catch up with lovely blogger pals all while perusing the best of the summer offerings from some of my favourite brands= total bliss.
We were treated to the amazing talents of Tammy from Diy Nails who is always an inspiration to me- a cracking laugh with some serious business brains to boot, this clever cookie is just about to open NAF- the coolest looking nail salon you are likely to find. After she sorted me out with some gorgeous Essie talons, I got to try out a metallic temporary tattoo to set it off. Now temporary tattoos might remind you of the 90's but let me tell you they have been dragged right up to date with the fab new offerings from Scottish based, Bare Baroque. Offering an amazing array of metallic and beautifully coloured designs that are so delicate and eye catching- these are the coolest thing to get a hold of for standing out this year, at festivals, weddings or just catching the rays on the beach. With options from the super subtle to all out bold- you honestly could have had them head to toe on me! I am definitely getting some to take away on holidays with me- they are a fab alternative to losing jewellery and can last up to 5 days which is pretty impressive.
Some beautifully tanned and toned models helped showcase some amazing swimwear options for this summer-I fell in love with the aztec print and triple strap detail on this Matthew Williamson bikini, he also had some parrot print shorts on offer that really caught my eye, his use of colour is fantastic, never mind these beauties are only £17.50 in the sale right now- hurrah!
Floozie by Frost French are always stand out winners for me when it comes to the wide range Debenhams stock- I am obsessing over this two piece right now and it's not just thanks to the Irn Bru colour palette, it is just downright adorable! But then I catch the flamingo print and I am back to complete indecision. I love how they stock something to suit all body types too, I am a huge fan of their Gorgeous DD+ lingerie range so I am super impressed they have swimwear in this line too which is great for fuller busts and being a sucker for a high waisted number I now also have my eye on the amazing neon touches on this butterfly print option.
Obviously I am a total sucker for print so it's no surprise that of course one of my all time favourites Henry Holland, stomps into the Summer Soiree and grabs my attention with his palm print sandals. They are absolute beauties and just one of the many colourful jewels on offer on the evening, I am so excited to get in store and start trying things on for real, although I have used the click and collect service so many times now I am more used to get carried away on a lunchtime shopping spree...
The soiree really got me in a summery mood which was no mean feat considering the monsoon-esque downpour that was happening outside ( typical Glasgow!) On top of all the summer fun it also meant I got a chance to have a nosey around Gusto which is absolutely gorgeous and I am now super keen to go along for food- the waiters were carrying around some bloody amazing looking dishes and it took a lot not to start pinching people's dinners!
