There are currently 2 million people living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 there will be 4 million and Macmillan Cancer Support want to make sure they are there for all of them by providing the necessary medical, emotional, practical and financial support. I know from experience just how much the different kinds of support they offer can help in these incredibly difficult and scary situations and it is so important that enough money is raised for these services to keep going.
Next Friday the 28th of September is Macmillan's biggest fund raising event of the year and all over the UK people will be holding a coffee morning to help raise funds. In 2011, 51 000 people signed up to hold one and raised a record £10 million which is incredible!
The event hopes to raise even more this year so if you know anyone holding one, or one crops up in your work please give what ever you can to make a BIG difference to those affected by cancer.
